Valkyrie Enterprises to Provide Support to NAVSEA
November 3, 2009 - Washington, DC - Valkyrie Enterprises has been awarded work under a contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide engineering support services for the Program Executive Office’s Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS). This project is based at the Washington, DC Navy Yard.
PEO IWS is responsible for managing U.S. Navy surface ship combat systems programs, and associated technology initiatives. Valkyrie’s support as a sub-contractor falls under the prime contract won by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC ) (NYSE: SAI) under the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort-e contract. Under the contract, the SAIC team will provide a wide range of technical support services to include enterprise solutions for the functional areas of systems engineering, ship integration, and product development, as well as surface ship design, construction, and maintenance.
“This was a great win by the SAIC team and for Valkyrie Enterprises,” said Gary Lisota, President/CEO of Valkyrie Enterprises. “For us, it represents an expanded role in providing combat systems engineering and technical support to the Navy at both the fleet and headquarters level. We look forward to being able to build upon the support with which we founded the company two years ago."
