Mark Leary, CMRP, Joins Valkyrie Enterprises
September 30, 2009 - Virginia Beach - Mark Leary has joined Valkyrie Enterprises as a Systems Engineer. In addition to joining the Virginia Beach-based defense contractor, Leary has also recently earned his Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional designation from the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP).
Mark recently retired from a 23 year naval career as an Engineering Duty Officer, Surface Warfare Officer and Machinist’s Mate (Nuclear). He is joining us from the Destroyer Class Squadron, where he served as both the Maintenance and Modernization Officer (N43) and the Combat Systems Officer (N6), identifying and solving DDG-51 class material issues. His officer tours at sea include USS PYRO (DCA), USS KISKA (Deck) and USS KITTY HAWK (MPA). He has served on the project management team for submarine and surface ship repair availabilities at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Other career highlights include the creation and automation of all Shipmain CFT-1 metrics, the production of the first operational web-based model using the MFOM methodology, and serving as Operations Manager for the Joint Distance Support and Response ACTD. Mark recently completed his Master of Engineering Management degree and also holds an MS in Applied Physics and a BS in Physics. Mark will be supporting Valkyrie's Surface Ship Life Cycle Management Activity.
