John Henson Joins Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC

June 15, 2009 - Virginia Beach - John Henson has joined Valkyrie Enterprises, LLC, a Virginia Beach-based defense contracting firm as its Program/Proposal Manager. As the Senior Program Manager, Henson is in charge of several Program Executive Office (PEO) Ship assigned projects and is providing oversight of the Program Managers supporting this client. As Proposal Manager, he is responsible for all aspects of proposal development and submission.

John’s background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University. John retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Captain and has over 13 years as a Division/Program Manager for such programs as the Navy’s Distributed Engineering Plant that provides integration and interoperability testing for the Strike Forces. He has provided direct support for High Performance Computing, and test procedure development for DD(X) and CVN 77. Commands supported include: JFCOM, CFFC, NAVSEA, NSWC Dahlgren, NSWC Dam Neck, NSWC Port Hueneme, NSWC Crane, and COMOPTEVFOR. He has also provided testing support to Bath Iron Works and Lockheed Martin. As a Proposal Manager, he has a successful track record of new contract wins in programs such as the $191 million Fleet Forces Command award and the $87 million award for NSWC Dam Neck. John brings a strong background in program and proposal management to Valkyrie.
